• What are the modes of travel on tour?

Generally, we travel by Flight, Coach, Train, Cruise, Speed boat, Jet Foil, Cable Car, etc. as mentioned in the itinerary.  However these modes of travel depend upon the tour option is booked.For more information refer respective tour itinerary page on the website.

• How hectic is the pace of the tours?

Different tours itineraries have their pace. Generally the tours are medium to fast pace as we cover maximum must see sight-seeing, however we do not have optional sight-seeing.

• Do we have to walk a lot on tours?

Generally, we have to walk at sightseeing places, amusement parks and at the airports sometimes for a long distance; however the same will be timely instructed by the Tour Leader.

• Do we get wake-up calls on tours?

Yes, you do get telephonic wakeup call through the hotel automated system, however it is advisable to have your mobile alarms set to be on the safer side.

• Are drinking water facilities available during sight-seeing?

In most of the countries tap water is considered very safe and widely available. In-case, it is not so and wherever Genius World provides the same is mentioned in the respective tour itinerary page on the website.

• Will Genius World recommend me where to shop on a tour?

Our Tour Leader will provide information about the shopping areas on tour, however s/he will not suggest/recommend / promote any particular shop, area etc. to you.

• Can I use my credit card for shopping / personal expense while on an International tour?

Yes, you can use internationally accepted Credit Cards for shopping and personal expenses but kindly cross check with your Bank before effecting any transaction. Genius World or their teamare not responsible/liable for any loss, fraud, damage, cheating etc., if any, occurs in such cases.

• What assistance is provided, if the scheduled tour is discontinued, on account of illness?

If you fall sick on tour, kindly inform the Tour Leader immediately. The Tour Leader will assist you in making all arrangements for the medical aid, doctor on call etc. However, the expenses will have to be borne by you. Here, Insurance plays a major role hence we highly recommend that you should get yourself and your family insured adequately before travel.

• Can one get medicine on a World Tour?

We highly recommend carrying sufficient medicines along with oneselfon tour. While packing, distribute them evenly in different bags to ensure that one hassome medicine with you in case there is any delay in getting baggage or loss. However you do get medicines on tour but your doctor’s prescription for the same is a must.

• What is generally the size of a tour group?

The size of the group is destination dependent. The average group size for World Tour is Between 40 to 47 and Indian tour is Between 28 to 56. However in case of special tours the group size may go beyond the aforesaid group size.

• Can one avail just a part of the tour?

Genius World does not recommend of allowing partial/part tours as the tour experience will be completely lost. Genius World can guide the customer across the wide range of products as per the requirements.

• Is the tour itinerary susceptible to last minute changes, as we need to plan our leaves & make necessary arrangements accordingly?

We do not change the itinerary or date of the tour, however in case of force majeure events; circumstances force us to change the routing or date of the tour, as the case may be, just for your safety.

• Is there any refund against cancellation?

Yes cancellation of tour will attract certain cancellation charges. The travel consultant will give the details about such cancellation at the time of booking or for more information on cancellation charges.

• Does Genius World provide Leave Travel Certificate?

A travel leave certificate is provide from our end, only if the intimation of the same is given to us at the time of booking the tour itself.

• If passport gets misplaced, what assistance will be provided?

A tour leader is assigned to manage the group & since he has to follow the itinerary. We may be able to provide assistance subject to the availability for the necessary formalities like lodging a complaint / FIR at the nearest police station & securing a Landing Certificate from the Indian Embassy of the respective international destination. All of the assistance provided will be on chargeable basis & on availability. During that period the effected party needs to stay back & the other members will move on to the next destination.

• Does Genius World book our journey tickets for Indian tours?

Indian tour price does not include air or railway tickets. In-case, you wish to travel by rail the tickets have to be booked by yourself. We book for your air travel only.

• Can one book theirown railway /air tickets; do I have to submit a copy to Genius World?

If you book your own railway / air tickets then the ticket details must be shared with the travel Consultant.

• Will Genius World assist for one way journey tickets?

Genius World will assist you with one way tickets for regular.

• How much baggage is allowed per ticket?

At present, depending upon the airline, most of the airlines are allowing 15 Kgs of Cargo bags per ticket and 05 Kgs of Handbag per ticket. In addition to hand baggage, one personal item like Laptop or ladies purse is allowed. However, due to security reasons for Jammu and Srinagar flights the hand baggage also goes along with the check in baggage and only laptop or digital camera is permitted inside the aircraft.

Does oneneed to carry any ID proof while traveling?

Yes, all tourists traveling by air / rail for Indian tours have to carry photo identification proof in the form of driving license, election ID card, PAN card, passport and for students their school / college ID card. Also, at certain sightseeing places in India any Identity proof (except PAN card) is a must which is mentioned on the respective tour itinerary page on our website.

What type of meals is included on tour?

As per the tour itinerary requirement, there is a preset menu. We serve vegetarian food along with 1 non vegetarian dish. Breakfast is continental and meals are Indian with an occasional addition of Fast/Local food.

• Can one request for a special meal?

Generic meal options are available. However special meal like Jain meal (No onion garlic), Fasting meal- as per availability and Baby meal can be arranged subject to prior intimation.In case of baby meal we provide tin milk, plain dal and rice only, during meals as per the itinerary. For in between requirements of baby we recommend one to carry sufficient baby food along.

• Do World Tours have a cook or caravan facility on it?

For World Tours, we generally have meals at Indian restaurants as it gives you an opportunity to enjoy a different ambiance and is comfortable. At times, we do give packed food too depending upon the itinerary.

• How many days prior to the tour should one do the booking?

Genius World’s recommendation is to book a tour 9 months prior to the scheduled departure date as most of our tours fill up 6 months in advance. Within India train travel bookings can be done 120 prior to the departure date. There are discounts to be availed for advance booking & get choice of the coach.

• How can one book a tour?

One can book a tour at any of the Genius World offices or Genius World's Preferred Sales Agents or Genius World Franchisee. Refer to our world showcase for the listing of our offices and preferred sales agents and Franchisee. If guests are residing out of India, they can book their tour online.

• What are the documents required to book a tour?

The following documents are important:

• Need passport with 6 months validity subsequent to the scheduled departure date of the tour and with sufficient number of blank pages for visa purposes.

• For World Tour, one also needs to pay a registration amount depending on the tour price.

For Indian Tours identification proof and registration amount is required for detailed information on the booking procedure.

• Does oneneed to pay the entire tour price lump-sum while booking?

If one pays the tour price at one go i.e.60 days prior departure then onegets the benefit of full payment discount. It is not mandatory though; you can pay the registration amount to book and pay the balance payment later.

• How can one check my payment and billing details?

All customers are entitled to check their billing and tour related information. The process is simple, just type your log in ID which is your tour code and form number and the password is printed on your payment receipt.

• Prior to tour departure is there any information provided?

We do give pre-departure information sheet once you book a tour which consists information about the destination, things to carry, weather, shopping etc. It is also available on the website under post booking information.

• Do we get any confirmation call of our scheduled departure?

Yes, 2 to 3 days prior to your scheduled departure we give a call to inform the reporting time and place.

• What does the World Tour price include?

• What does the Indian tour price include?

Indian Tour price includes accommodation, all meals, sightseeing, entrance charges, Tour Leader services etc. but does not include your to and fro journey tickets. • Can one avail any early booking benefit?

It’s simple; this is how it’s done:

One gets an advance booking discount for all tours on paying full registration amount at the time of booking.Discounts are slab wise and are given on first cum first serve basis. However to avail it you need to hurry since they are valid for limited seats, limited period, and limited tours and vary depending on the tour and region. Moreover Genius World also offers full payment discount if you pay the entire tour price 60 - 300 days prior to the tour departure.

• What benefits can Repeat Travelers and Senior Citizens expect?

Repeat Guest and Senior discounts varies as per each tour. Genius World does not have a policy of giving such discount benefits.

• What are the benefits of group bookings?

Group bookings are always a benefit but only if the booking is for agroup of more than 8 guests on the same day.

• Are there any age criteria for discounts? Do children also get discount?

Discounts are applicable for all guests who are or above 2 years of age for both World Tours & Indian tours.

• Is there any specific reason, why there is a remarkable difference in the price for an Infant & a Child for the World Tours?

Airlines have different airfares both infant and child as per their defined age category.

• Infant airfare: 10% of adult fare
• Child airfare: 75% of adult fare or same as adult fare in some cases

However for child above 2 years we also provide separate coach seats for the entire tour.

• Why is the World Tour price quoted in Indian Rupees as well as in foreign currency?

The tour expenses are incurred in two currencies. air tickets, visa, documentation, some part of land arrangements and miscellaneous expenses are done in Indian currency whereas your land arrangements like hotel booking, meals, coach, sightseeing, entrance tickets etc. are done in foreign currency.

• Is upgradation/change of class for travel or airline allowed?

Yes, one can upgrade class of travel or airline as per the availability and on an additional cost. Please inform the same at the time of booking.

• Can request for a window seat or seat with more leg space made?

Yes, one can request for a window seat or seat with more leg space or an aisle seat at the airport check in counter. It will be provided by airline as per the availability.

• Would the airline have provision for a wheelchair?

Yes, airlines have provision but it is limited hence you need to inform us at the time of booking. Few airlines also have certain charges for wheel chair. Wheelchair is subject to availability and at the discretion of the airline.

• Can one book their own air tickets and join a tour?

Yes, for all tours of Genius World you have a facility of joining the tour at the first destination and leaving the tour at the last destination. For such tours, you get a special joining and leaving price. Joining and leaving guest is the one who books the escorted group tour of Genius World without taking the services of visa, insurance and main air travel ticket to reach the first destination of the tour and leaves the tour from the last place of Sightseeing / Restaurant / Hotel / Airport to reach his/ her hometown.

• Does oneneed to carry multiple currencies as per different countries visited on the tour?

USD / EURO are universally accepted currencies and easily exchangeable in any part of the world. No need to carry multiple currencies. You can carry the local currency of the visiting country worth $50 for miscellaneous expenses and if incase of emergency.

• How much foreign exchange can one carry on tour?

As per RBI circular, the Basic Travel Quota per financial year is US $10000 per person for private visit and US $25000 for business visit.

• Is it advisable to carry foreign exchange in Cash on tour?

The following foreign exchanges can be carried:

• American Express Travelers Cheques: accepted around the world. Safer than cash, replaceable within 24 hours if lost. Budgeting and tracking is easier in this case
• Forex Card: magnetic strip based Prepaid Card usually introduced in partnership with Visa International or Master Card International, which offers you a convenient and secure way to carry your foreign exchange.

• How can one use refund amount for Future Tour?

Future Tour Discount Letter ('FTDL') is better option compared to refund as it fetches more benefits to you. It can be used for any tour & transferable to your blood relatives, on provision of NOC.

• After paying once, will one get refund of the tour cost?

In case of cancellation of your tour by the Company, you will get the refund of actual amount paid by you. But if you cancel the tour, the cancellation charges will be applicable as per the cancellation policy.

• Is the Registration amount refundable?

The Registration amount paid at the time of booking is nonrefundable& interest free. However, to ensure you’rebooking at given price & allowed discount, you need to pay the entire amount of initial deposit amount in stipulated time line.

• Can one transfer Refund amount to any other tour or to afriends or relatives tour?

Yes, one’s refund amount is transferable to another tour. In case, if one want’s refund amount to be transferred to that afriends or relatives tour, we'll need a duly signed Authority Letter.

• Is one’s refund amount adjustable against any part - cancellation?

No, the refund amount is not adjustable against part cancellation.

• How much time does it usually take to process a refund?

Ideally, it takes 4 - 5 working days to process refunds. Once the guest agrees on refund amount. However, to derive the best amount of refund, it takes additional operational time to deal with airlines, hoteliers etc.

• What is being the mode of payment in case of refund?

Ideally, the refund amount is credited using the same mode of payment that you had used to book the tour, the only exception in this case is if you had used Cash/Demand Draft in such case, the mode of payment for refund will be 'Account Payee' cheque only. In case of Credit Card, the transaction would be reversed accordingly, considering the bank charges/Service charges on Credit Card payments which are non-refundable.

• Are online refunds possible, if yes, what's the process and who will bear the transaction cost?

Yes, online refunds are possible, if the booking was done online. If Genius World cancels the tour for whatsoever reason,then the entire tour cost will be refunded.
